These days Melbourne is the world’s coffee capital. In addition to the MICE exhibition and Coffee Week events, there is a special happening organised by Barista League and Rancilio Specialty scheduled for Thursday 29 September. After the MICE, the trade show visitors and the city’s coffee lovers will gather at the Proud Mary Coffee Roasters to join the Barista League competition featuring 12 baristas. As usual, the mood will be the party atmosphere that marks all events organised by Steve Moloney and co. with music, good vibes, and delicious coffees. A chance to dance, drink with friends and network with everyone involved in Melbourne’s coffee scene. Rancilio Specialty RS1 will be the official espresso machine of the competition, starring in all the rounds that require the preparation of an espresso. The judges for this stage will be: Lucy Ward of St Ali Coffee Roasters, Sam Low, Jibbi the Littles, Devin Loong of Ona Coffee, Brodie Roberts of Proud mary Coffee Roasters and Pete Licata. The evening will be presented by Danni Choy of Oatly and Demelza Jones of Same Cup. DJ set by Goldie Luxe. Taco Truck will serve tacos, burritos and snacks. The invitation is open to all.
