On 16 November, Rancilio Group will be among the partners of the Journey in Italy symposium at the United Nations Headquarters in New York. The symposium, entitled ‘The Taste of Sustainable Well-Being: a Dialogue between the Mediterranean Diet and African Cuisine’, is sponsored by the United Nations, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other major international institutions.
The Rancilio Specialty RS1 professional multi-boiler espresso machine, equipped with Advanced Temperature Profiling technology, the Rancilio Kryo Evo 65 OD on-demand grinder and Lavazza will be the spokespersons for the benefits of coffee prepared in the Italian tradition. If consumed in moderation and steadily, coffee is in fact a positive element within the Mediterranean Diet, contributing to the reduction of risks related to mortality and cardiovascular diseases.
The main theme of the symposium will be the Mediterranean Diet, now universally recognised as a positive lifestyle model for physical and mental health. The benefits of this dietary approach also extend to sustainability and regeneration, in line with the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals.
The full programme of Journey in Italy, divided into twelve sessions between 14 and 18 November 2023 in eleven cities around the world, is intended as a place for discussion and cultural exchange on the principles of the Mediterranean Diet, and how it can be harmoniously reflected in the different cultural cuisines of the southern and northern hemispheres.
